  Program Coordinator / Case Manager (FT)

(Availability Date: June 1, 2010)
 
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for a new social service program aimed at fostering the long term economic self-sufficiency activities of low income populations and youth. Responsibilities include, outreach, intake, conducting comprehensive eligibility and assessments of individuals to determine their needs as well as underlying causes / barriers to economic self-sufficiency through life-long employability, identifying community resources, providing information and referral services, providing advocacy and emergency services, and program recordkeeping.

Qualifications:
·      B.S. Education or other related fields, Master’s in Social Work (LMSW preferred)

·      3-4 years experience in program development, outreach activities and staff supervision

·      Knowledge of local economic and employment trends and experience providing employment activities to low income individuals.

·      Ability to work with neighborhood youth and low-income populations, meet periodic goals, exercise good judgment, and coordinate with a wide range of service organizations

·      Knowledge of PC-based software including MS Office Suite

·      Bilingual English/Spanish, strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required.Experience in community based / grass roots organizing experience, social work or community education.

Program Counselor/Computer Instructor (PT)

(Availability Date: June 1, 2010)

Responsibilities:
With a goal of enhancing basic education learning and developing participants’ computer literacy skill levels for employment advancement. Providing literacy instruction, vocational skills training and integrated work experience based upon participant Individual Empowerment Plans developed at intake. Provides direct client services in the areas of technology, employment preparation and training, and/or job development / placement.

 Qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Education or other related fields preferred

·      At least 2 years experience providing technology-based and/or classroom instruction to adult and/or youth learners

·      Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Suite, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Excel or Access and extensive experience navigating Internet and search engine skills for purposes of employment and career exploration

·      Ability to work with neighborhood youth and low-income populations, meet periodic goals, exercise good judgment, and coordinate with a wide range of service organizations

·      Bilingual English/Spanish, strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills required.Experience in community based / grass roots organizing experience, social work or community education.
