What we do

YWCA is on a mission and YWCA Yonkers is making it our own!

To effectively empower women and combat racism, it is vital that we engage with our clients in a manner that acknowledges their unique vulnerabilities and experiences. By providing compassionate support and tailored services, we can help pave the way for self-sufficiency and prosperity.

Our vision is to create a society where all women and their families can thrive without the constraints of discrimination. Achieving this vision necessitates a forward-thinking approach, where we anticipate the evolving needs of our clients and develop innovative solutions to address the challenges they face, such as poverty, unsafe living conditions, lack of access to reliable and affordable childcare, gun violence and the barriers of underemployment.

As we adapt our services to meet these changing needs, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every woman has the opportunity to reach her full potential.

We remain rooted in rich history, but our approach to serving our clients is holistic, strategic and innovative.

Housing Program

The Housing Program aims to provide affordable, safe, and convenient housing solutions specifically tailored for women in need. Recognizing the unique challenges that women may face, including economic instability, homelessness, or domestic violence, the program strives to create an inclusive environment where they can find stability and rebuild their lives. By offering a range of supportive services alongside housing options, such as job training, and childcare assistance, the program empowers women to regain control over their circumstances and foster independence. This initiative not only enhances the quality of life for its participants but also contributes to building stronger and more resilient communities.
